We stayed for at Xaloc for 10days. We usually stay at high end resorts but this time on this island we wanted to go with a more traditional style boutique hotel. The first couple of days it was an adjustment to us from what we are used to, but after a few days, we absolutely loved our stay. First off, all the employees that we got to interact with were super polite and respectful and very outgoing and friendly and eger to help. That was wonderful. The free breakfest in the morning was a delite to wake up to each and every morning. Our stay, we were in the adults only side bungalow 1, our room was in the perfect location on the property, easy in and out access to the adult pool and beach side. The room was very clean and came equipped with the basics. The housekeeper does a wonderful job. The ac in the room worked wonderfully on the hotter days. The adults pool was very nice and barely anybody in it so we pretty much had it to ourselves the entire stay. We didn’t go over to the (family/kid) pool side so we don’t really know how that was so can’t give any reviews on that.
-This hotel is in the perfect location on the island. 5-10min beach walk to downtown, perfect side of the beach for peace and quite, and they had plenty of chairs in front or by the beach to enjoy. The grounds were always very well kept up and the staff worked very hard to keep it like that. We absolutely loved our stay..
-though with all the goods, there are some downsides to this specific hotel that I can see how some people will not like about it. 1) the water pressure and hot water in the rooms, was a little low and wasn’t that hot (you get used to it after the first few showers) 2) if your a lite sleeper, these rooms might not be the best for you, you do hear a good amount of outside noise, such has the birds, people walking by and the traffic on the road on the side and infront. The first few nights where the carnival nights and we didn’t fall asleep till 330am due to the noise. But after the carnival was done we got a decent nights rest each and very night following. So either bring ear plugs or your own sound machine if need. 3) there’s no wifi, fridge or tv in the room. There’s WiFi in the lobby and that’s all. So if your someone who needs those things in the room, then this might be a turn off for you. We brought a cooler and got ice from the market next door for $45pesos so we used that as a fridge. 4) this is more for us maybe not for everybody else, but the beds were a tad firm to our liking, they aren’t pillow tops and they aren’t plywood, they where slightly on the firmer side of both spectrums for the comfort of most.
-Otherwise besides those few things, this hotel was a great boutique style hotel for us to dip our foot in for us from the traditional style resorts we typical stay at. Thank you everybody at Xaloc for a wonderful stay and it was such a pleasure staying there and meeting you all.
-also on a scale from 1 star hotel (being a hostel) to a 5 star hotel (being either the AWA or flamingo hotel on the island) we would say this is a solid 3 star property and a great mix of both.

Perfect location situated right on the beach.  Comfortable rooms with nice towels, beds.  Shower could be improved.  Staff generally very nice especially the cleaning and breakfast team, very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.  Breakfast was great offering both Mexican and international options.  Wifi only works in reception area.  Would highly recommend this hotel in Holbox :)

Accommodation and the hotel surroundings were very nice. The breakfast was very tasty, with fruit and a selection from the menu, offering quite a lot of options, both sweet and savory. Many people complained about the portion sizes, but in my opinion they were perfectly fine. As for the staff, they were sometimes not entirely friendly, but I think that’s more of a general trait rather than something specific to this hotel. The only downside I would mention is that they don’t serve espresso.

We had a wonderful stay at Xaloc and honestly everything was excellent. The location is absolutely beautiful, right by the beach, with stunning views and a very relaxing atmosphere. Our bungalow was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything we needed. Waking up to the sound of the sea was unforgettable! The raccoons were almost always in. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional, smiling and ready to assist with anything. Service was good and made us feel very welcome. The beach area was clean and peaceful, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The hotel facilities were great and the whole place felt calm, safe, and tropical. Pool was nice and WiFi only around the reception but it was good to be cut off from “online world “. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we would definitely come back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing beach holiday!

The room could definitely be cleaner – the shower, the floor, and the terrace were not well maintained. The sunbed outside was already dirty when we arrived. The pool shown in the pictures is unfortunately much smaller in reality, and the water did not look clean. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the restaurant area. Breakfast is very limited: each person can only place one order and one dish, and without any pictures you don’t really know what you’re choosing. You basically have to decide between something sweet or something savory. On the positive side, the location is good – the beach is close.

I had a great massage with Max. I highly recommend! He really took his time to hear me. It felt very intuitive, he knew exactly what my body needed. I love that he included aromatherapy, and a very throughtful gift at the end 🙏🏽✨ thank you Max, looking forward to the next one!

Without hesitation I recommand this massage therapist. Max is a profound Soul who knows his art of helping me get back to myself. It was a true blessing finding him. His approach in none I would of dreamed of. Truly professionnal while working on sore areas, he made me feel anew in a very positive way.

Great experience with Max. Communication was easy and efficient. The place was easy to find and very very clean. Max was friendly and professional. Definitely knows his trade. Used a number of different techniques, and gave me a real work over. Just what I needed. This is not a $60 Beach massage. It's a full experience, and definitely worth it. I hope you enjoy it.
