What is Public Access?

Until relatively recently, members of the public could only instruct a barrister if they went to see a solicitor first.

Having to instruct both a solicitor and a barrister could be very expensive.

This restriction has now been removed. In most cases, a member of the public can now directly instruct a barrister without the need to instruct a solicitor first.

How much does it cost?

My fees depend on the nature and level of the work that we agree upon.

Using a public access barrister has been shown to be 30 to 50% more cost-effective than instructing a firm of solicitors.

All of my fees are agreed upon in advance, so you’re never surprised by unexpected charges.

Are you insured and regulated?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as a practising barrister, I am required to be fully insured with Bar Mutual Insurance, and I am regulated by the Bar Standards Board and the Legal Ombudsman.

I am a member of Erimus Chambers, which can process any complaint in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with any of the work that I carry out.
