Yes, we encourage you to apply! If you are a rural applicant, highlight that in your application. This camp is aimed at getting rural individuals from Northern AB more exposed to the field of medicine.

When & where is camp?

July 20-24th, 2026 (1 day expansion from last year). Camp will at the Grande Prairie Hospital.

How do I know if I can apply based on my grade?

I’m entering grade 9 in the fall, can I apply? No
I’m entering grade 10 in the fall, can I apply? Yes
I’m finishing grade 12 this semester, can I apply? Yes

Will there be any transportation?

No transportation will be provided to Grande Prairie or during camp. We will be planning activities within close proximity to camp.

Are there any social activities at camp?

Yes! We are planning social events during camp and a social night after camp hours for everyone to get to know each other.

What activities are at camp?

We are still confirming the details....so stay tuned! But, you can expect workshops, case-based learning, presentations & simulations with a variety of healthcare professionals.

Do I have to pay for meals?

Lunch and snacks will be provided during camp hours. Campers are responsible for the rest of their meals during the week.

What does camp cost?

Its FREE! Campers will be responsible for meals outside of camp hours, transportation costs to GP & accommodations. Dorm costs will be covered, but we have limited spaces!

Will there be accommodations?

We have limited dorm spaces at NWP, including individual bedrooms (option to double up with a friend) and shared common space with three other campers. We will have chaperones for the dorm rooms. Dorm costs will be covered.

No, but we will have volunteers supervising all activities (camp & social activities).

If I'm from Edmonton, can I apply?

No, we would encourage you to apply for the Edmonton camp as we prioritize applicants from Northern AB or rural areas for the Grande Prairie camp.
