I have to say I was quite disappointed by the paella Valenciana. The rice misses this « al dente » feeling and is way overcooked, so are the green beans which were almost mashed. It also misses this light smokey taste which identifies good paellas which partly comes from the “soccarrat” (this grilled layer of rice at the bottom of the pan) and the wood that actual paella chef use for cooking. And, even if there is the mandatory chicken, I was rudely told that “we don’t use rabbit in central Valencia” when I asked the vendor about it missing. The vendor who claimed to be from Valencia compared to me poor tourist who doesn’t know about paella. Except that I have been eating paella valenciana many many times in all areas of the “Valencia ajuntament” and all add rabbit 😬 Clear conclusion: would not recommend and felt a bit tourist-trapped.

We tried Paella Chef and went for the Paella Valenciana. It was a good choice. The portion was generous and had a good amount of meat, which we really liked. The rice was flavourful and well cooked, with that nice traditional taste you expect from paella. It’s a great option if you want to try something authentic without sitting in a full restaurant. Quick, tasty, and satisfying.

This place is so stingy with protein that you're basically just buying rice. If you order a paella marisco you'll get a container of rice with one shrimp or one piece of squid or one mussel in it, that's it. "or", not "and". Valencian paella you get one piece of meat and all rice, that's it. You're paying for 6€ of rice and a rounding error of things that aren't rice. Don't waste your money here. There are so many awesome paella takeout places in Valencia, this isn't one of them. edit - regarding the owner's reply below, they are one of the only takeout paella places in the entire city that gives you essentially zero protein, which they admit if you read through the lines in their reply. There are several nearby takeout places that will load you up with tasty rice and a decent amount of meat or mariscos and are cheaper than this one.
