Learn About The Table
The Table began as a City Group at my church, but the idea came from my own experience as a caregiver. When someone needs care, most questions are about them: How are they doing? What did the doctor say? What do they need? The Table turns those questions toward the caregiver.
The name is intentional. Around a table, families eat, talk, laugh, cry, listen, disagree, play games, and spend time together. Our gatherings make room for those same things. We share meals, check in with one another, and ask how caregiving is affecting the person behind the appointments, decisions, and daily responsibilities. We talk about what they need and what would actually help. Some gatherings include a counselor or helpful information; others are simply time together.
The Table began with women, but its heart is bigger than one gender, diagnosis, or caregiving story—including those whose caregiving season has changed or ended. Here, the caregiver is the person being checked on.
