SPOT Collective

is a Netherlands-based transdisciplinary collective of artists, designers and thinkers. Through playful, satirical exhibitions, the collective reimagines familiar spaces and everyday experiences to critically explore contemporary culture. ● At Dutch Design Week, SPOT Collective has presented Duty Free Zone (2024), ALL YOU CAN EAT (2025), and SPOT Collective returns to Dutch Design Week in 2026 with BIRREAN BILLBOARD CITY, an exhibition conceived by artist and architect Nils Axen. Set in Axen’s fictional bird civilisation, the exhibition presents five monumental advertisements reinterpreted as cultural heritage. Through a fictional museum narrative, the work explores consumerism, propaganda and the power of institutions to shape collective memory. Blending worldbuilding, architecture and visual art, Axen uses absurdity and satire to reflect on the contradictions of our own society.
