Spokane Youth Action Board (YAB) is a community-based advocacy group of youth and young adults (YYA) ages 12 to 24 with lived homelessness or housing instability experience. YAB is currently hosted under Spectrum Center Spokane. The Spokane YAB plays an important leadership role within Spokane YYA Homelessness System. The YAB is an official subcommittee of the Continuum of Care (CoC) Board with an elected member of the YAB serving as the youth with lived experience. The YAB is part of the Anchor Community Initiative (ACI) under A Way Home Washington (AWHWA) to work in community collaboration to reach functional zero of YYA homelessness. As well as planning, advising, and reviewing may other projects and funding opportunities. The YAB seeks to support youth voices to develop community-based solutions to help solve the unique and complex challenges that YYA face day-to-day.
