Olga Shurygina (b. 1987) is an artist and art historian. She holds an MA in Fashion Design and Costume History in Moscow (2013). She undertook an internship at Ermanno Scervino (2014) and pursued a career in fashion before turning to artistic practice. Her most significant projects include Patterneria (2022), an installation featuring 700 traditional bells, and Embellishess (2026), a series of performances involving ordinary garments embroidered with traditional bells. Following the latter project, she was invited by Jean Paul Gaultier to create a video teaser for the SS2027 collection. Since 2019, Shurygina has pursued an independent art-historical practice in Gabon centered on the practice of a local tradition. In 2026, she became an official member of Maghanga Ma Nzambe org. In 2025, she moved to Uzbekistan to build a museum dedicated to the legacy of her grandmother Olga Azarenko (1939–2024), who worked as a textile designer at the Margilan Silk Factory (1950-1990s).
