POR-15 Fuel Tank Repair Kit POR-15 Fuel Tank Repair Kit has what you need to repair and seal your metal automotive, agricultural farm or industrial machinery gas, diesel fuel tanks, and DEF tanks. POR-15 Fuel Tank Repair Kit will stop rust, corrosion, and seal pinhole leaks. Your fuel tank will be impervious to all additives, gas, and diesel consumer fuels, including ethanol, and higher alcohol content and stage 2 fuel kits. It has superior strength and fuel resistance. POR-15 Fuel Tank Repair Kit is more than just pouring a quart of sealer and sloshing it around. If gum, varnish, sludge, or fuel are inside, they must be removed first. This kit includes our cleaning and neutralizing etching products to improve sealer adhesion in old tanks. Like other sealers, POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer will not work in a contaminated fuel tank. If the tank had a competitor's old failed sealer, it should be removed before starting the repair process. Step 1: Mix 1 quart Cleaner Degreaser with 1 quart of hot water. This solution will be used to remove any gum, varnish, or sludge from the inside of the tank. Step 2: Pour the entire bottle of Metal Prep to dissolve rust, coat the tank with zinc phosphate, and etch the metal for better adhesion of the sealer. Step 3: After the tank is clean, drain the tank and rinse thoroughly with water. Let the tank dry. When totally dry, pour in the entire can of Fuel Tank Sealer. Step 4: After all surfaces have been coated, drain the tank for about an hour to remove excess sealer from the tank. Step 5: Once repaired, use fuel preservation & stabilizer to keep your entire fuel system in proper working order and to avoid "stale gas" problems in your future!

The cycle is 30 mins at 135 degrees F, 30% relative humidity and 30 mins at 75-80 degrees F, 100% relative humidity 1,000 hours of exposure equals 5 years of simulated exposure in the Rocky Mountain region. There was no change in the 3 panels coated with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating exposed for 2,000 hours. ASTM B-117 Salt Spray - specimens exposed at specific locations and angles. Created a 100% relative humidity condition in the exposure zone. Two separate B-117 tests. One with new bare steel and the other with rusted steel. Both were coated with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. No change in 3 panels of new steel exposed for 250 hours at 98 degrees. Thickness = 2 mils No change in 3 panels of rusted steel exposed for 1000 hours at 98 degrees. Thickness = 2 mils Chemical Resistance Chemical Bath Test - After 200 hours of soaking in the following chemical bathes, panels coated with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating experienced no changes: 10% hydrochloric acid, 50% sulphuric acid, 55% chromate, 85% phosphoric acid, 10% sodium hydroxide 98% methanol. Raw Sewage Test - A metal box that houses a filter for raw sewage in a treatment facility was coated with POR-15 Rust Preventive. After a year of service, no undercutting or rusting was present on the housing. Impact, Porosity, and Temperature Tests Mil-D-3134J Impact Resistance - POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating exceeds standards. ASTM C-413 Water Absorption - method covers the determination of absorption of chemical-resistant mortars, grouts, monolithic surfacings, and polymer concretes. 0.0001 maximum NACE Stand TM0174 - 0.00 POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is a non-porous coating. Temperature Resistance - POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating is temperature resistant up to 450° continuously. Test showed no adhesion lost at 450° F for 10 hours.
