Davon Cecil is a storyteller from the heart of Kentucky with a newfound home on Chicago's South Side. Despite his volatile upbringing, he’s taken intentional leaps of faith that have gained him acceptance into highly competitive programs such as the Nate Parker Foundation Summer Film Institute, the Inaugural Impact MENtorship class, and now attending USC’s School of Cinematic Arts Writing for Screen & Television program. His first narrative short film, Taraji, was an Official Selection for the '25 XL Film Festival , '26 Bill Johnson Black Film Festival, and '26 MY HERO International Film Festival; a SAGindie Film Music Connect Shorts Competition winning film and YWCA Choice Award Winner at the Ohio Valley Festival for Filmmakers of Color.
