Got it, here’s the corrected version with the proper name and a smoother flow: ⸻ I went to Capitano today more for the vibes than anything else since I didn’t have the biggest appetite, and it definitely delivered on ambience. The rooftop aesthetic is super cute and makes it a great spot to just hang out and grab drinks. Parking at The Wharf can be a bit of a hit or miss. Today the entire garage was closed because of an event, so I had to park further out in a residential area. A lot of the surrounding blocks are residential parking only, which can be tricky. I did end up getting a ticket for parking in a residential zone. Interestingly, in some cases that ticket can end up being cheaper than garage parking anyway, but still something to be mindful of. I only had a couple of drinks and they were really good. I like a well crafted cocktail, and theirs definitely hit the mark. I also tried the rustic bread, but it tasted a bit stale so I sent it back. The pizza, however, was great. I’ve been here before after a 5K a few weeks ago with friends, and that experience was a lot more food focused. We had shots, the Parmesan fries were a standout, and they also enjoyed a vodka penne pasta. Overall, Capitano is a cute spot at The Wharf, especially if you’re going for drinks, rooftop vibes, and a relaxed hangout rather than a full dining experience.

Capitano DC just opened at the beginning of the month so I want to be fair and give credit where it is due while also being honest about the experience. The greeter at the front was pleasant and escorted us to a nice table by the window. The views of the water were a lovely touch and a great start to the evening. Unfortunately once we were seated I looked down and noticed the floor around our table was not clean. There were crumbs, hair and a random fry right by my feet. It is a small thing but sweeping the area before seating new guests would go a long way. The service was a bit slow but honestly not surprising for a restaurant still finding its footing. Our server was nice and pleasant though did not go above and beyond from a hospitality standpoint. One thing worth noting is that tap water was automatically brought to the table without being asked whether we preferred still or sparkling. Again a small detail but those little touches matter. On the food side the meatballs were tasty and the chicken parmesan was fine. They had run out of the crispy brussels by the time we ordered so I went with the Parmesan fries as a substitute which were okay. Overall it was a decent first visit but there is definitely room to grow. I have a feeling once they settle in and work out the early kinks this place could really shine. I will check back in a few months and see how things have progressed!

if you are visiting or just trying a new place this is it the food was great i don’t usually get burgers and fries but i loved it 10/10 my boyfriend gave it a 4.5/5 it was very clean the music is the back was great waiters were nice and friendly our waiter even made me laugh and i believe the manager came in and checked on us definitely will be back if i come to washington, d.c. again and definitely want to try breakfast
