Hi, I’m Alisha Atkinson!
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and I’m the youngest of eight siblings — which means I’ve always been surrounded by family, laughter, and a lot of love (and maybe a little chaos too!). Growing up as a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) taught me how to communicate in different ways and gave me a deep appreciation for empathy and connection. I learned American Sign Language at a young age — though I’m a little rusty now — and it’s something that’s always stayed close to my heart.
I’m a Biology major at UTRGV with a concentration in Biological Sciences, and my dream is to become an OB-GYN. I’ve always been passionate about helping women feel heard and supported, especially when it comes to their reproductive health. In many Hispanic families, there’s still a lot of stigma around talking about women’s health, and I want to change that. My goal is to create a safe and open space where women can ask questions, feel empowered, and truly understand their bodies w
