Protests in Iran began on December 28, 2025, sparked by economic collapse and rapidly spreading across all provinces. Within days, they evolved into a nationwide anti-regime uprising. Since then, more than 26,000 people have been arrested, with hundreds now facing imminent execution. Saving their lives must be our immediate priority. This is why we are launching this petition and email template—to demand political sponsorship for Iranian political prisoners. During the Woman, Life, Freedom revolution in 2022, political prisoners who were sponsored by international lawyers and officials saw their executions paused, and in many cases, were released. Political sponsorship increases international scrutiny and makes it far harder for the Islamic Republic to torture, disappear, or execute prisoners without consequences. This directly saves lives.
