Update: buyer beware!!! When I posted this review April 4th, I was getting my bora bora braids done. The service was $530 (real human hair provided by me) and took all day! 1030-1:30am. I asked several times can I get it wet/will the braids stay in because she did not tie or glue the braids. She assured me it wouldn’t unravel, that they were secure.

They were so cute initially (purple outfit photo) ! But went on my vacation April 13th by April 15th braids curly ends started sliding out (pictured) & has been ever since. All thats left in my head is the regular braiding hair used to start the braid. I made her aware and sent videos but I could not leave my preplanned  vacation out of the country to come back to MD to get it fixed. When I finally returned, I reached out and was left on read. She still has not offered to fix it nor refund me.
I am someone who HATES getting their hair done and loves to keep braids in for 2-3 months. I only had 10 DAYS of wear! I can’t wear ANY STYLES bc the braids have come undone in various spots all over my head. This is truly unacceptable & very disheartening as prior to this I enjoyed her braids. Due to her lack of response & initiative to rectify this situation, I recommend you look elsewhere for a braider.

Growing my hair out from a buzz cutt, I had to search for braiders who can actually grip short hair. I found Yvonne on tiktok & had a phenomenal experience. My first set of braids Feb 2025 (xxs boho/500) lasted 2 months before I needed a touch up (250/pictured below)! Parts are crisp and braids stayed in! I don’t like to get my hair done often so longevity is very important to me. The price is the price but keep in mind she does real xxs/xs size!!  Today I got bora bora braids (500) (not pictured yet)

The salon is clean, chair is comfortable and it was peaceful as it was just us there each time. She has majority of the  braiding and boho hair pre-prepped! Although she provides boho hair, sometimes I bring my own (be sure to give it to her in advance for prepping.) I am able to use a charger, the wifi and tv without issue. She’s very friendly & customer service focused. She’s also gentle with her touch (not snatching your head around rudely) An incredibly comfortable experience from start to finish!

She will work with you if possible. Ask and she will accommodate! Today I needed to finish painting my own nails and set up a lil station for me to do that while she braided.

My experience with VIP Braids has been phenomenal from consultation to braiding to customer service to follow up to touch ups! I could go on and on! For my short hair girlies? THIS is where you NEED to be also! She can GRIP and it’s painless! I promise! I’ll be back!
