Unearth a Story - 2026 Summer Reading Program
The 2026 Summer Reading Program kicks off with Donut Day on Saturday, May 30. Come to the library from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to get a donut and sign up for the summer reading program. You can even register for the new 100 Book Club challenge!And stay tuned here for the program announcements we'll have coming in the next few weeks.

The 100 Book Club is a prestigious reader club at Upper Sandusky Community Library. Readers will join the 100 Book Club Challenge with a goal to read 100 books in a year's timeframe. If they meet that goal they will be inducted into the 100 Book Club.

Meet Nola the Noble Corgi and Matt
Upper Sandusky Community Library welcomes Matthew Swinehart and Nola the Corgi for a special author visit.Matthew will share his and Nola’s experiences as part of the Doggy Brigade, a dog therapy team at Akron Children's Hospital. He’ll also read his book, “Nola the Noble Corgi Visits the Hospital.”The meet and greet will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in the library’s large meeting room. Have you ever heard of a blinged-out dinosaur? Have you ever seen a T-Rex with crystal scale armor? If you haven’t here’s your chance to create one of your own!Miss Lisa is hosting a dino and movie craft hour for kids in fourth grade and up at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 in the library’s large meeting room. He will share his research into the history of the local paper, including its origins, interesting anecdotes, and how the newspaper and journalism have changed throughout the last century. Bedazzle That Book
Take part in the Tiktok sensation of bedazzling your favorite books at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 in the library’s large meeting room. To participate, bring in a book to bedazzle or pick from a selection of books supplied by the library. There will be coffee and donuts, and you’ll watch “The Lost City” while you make your book as sparkly as Sandra Bullock’s bright purple jump suit.Registration is required and starts on June 15th. Diggin' with Jeb - For Kids!
Learn about archaeology and fossils with archaeologist Jeb Bowen and his wife, Pam! The Bowens, who work with the Clarke-May Museum in Circleville, will be digging into fossils and answering questions about archaeology. There will be two sessions of this program. Diggin’ with Jeb for adults will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4. Children will be able to learn from Jeb, including going on their own archaeology “dig,” at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29. Tiny Tots and Preschool StoryTimes
There are two half-hour Story Time programs available for children and their caregivers:Tiny Tots Story Time is a very energetic program designed for children ages newborn to three years and their caregiver. It is held on Mondays at 10:00 a.m., Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. Story Time for Pre-Schoolers (ages three to six) is a fun, interactive experience which includes a science experiment. It is held on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
