Question 1

How do you secure registrations that aren't available on the open market?

Accepted Answer

We have a private network of clients and contacts who own high-value number plates that aren’t advertised for sale. Many of these registrations never appear on the open market. Because we work directly with private owners and businesses, we’re often able to find and secure plates that aren’t available through traditional dealers. If you’re looking for a specific registration, we’ll use our network to source it as discreetly as possible, keeping the process private and straightforward from start to finish.

Question 2

Why do you require a 10% securement deposit?

Accepted Answer

High-value registration marks can sell very quickly, so we ask for a 10% holding deposit to reserve the plate for you. Once your deposit has been received, we take the registration off the market and begin securing it on your behalf. This means it won’t be offered to any other buyers while we complete the purchase process. The deposit gives you the exclusive opportunity to purchase the registration and shows your commitment to the acquisition.

Question 3

How long does the acquisition and transfer process take?

Accepted Answer

Once a registration is successfully secured on your behalf, the formal processing window typically takes between 14 to 21 days. This timeline accounts for official government documentation processing and the issuing of physical certificates. Once the paperwork is generated, the digital assignment to your specific vehicle can be completed instantly.

Question 4

Do I need to assign the registration to a vehicle immediately?

Accepted Answer

No, there is no immediate requirement to put the plate on a car. The registration can be safely held on a retention document indefinitely. This allows you to secure a high-value family name or legacy mark today as an investment, even if you plan to assign it to a future vehicle further down the line.

Question 5

What details do you need from me to handle the legal transfer?

Accepted Answer

To ensure a flawless legal handover, we manage the entire administrative transfer on your behalf. If you are assigning the plate to a vehicle immediately, we will require your current V5C logbook document reference number. If you are holding the asset for future use, we simply require your full legal name or corporate entity details to list you as the official Nominee on the entitlement certificate.

Question 6

I am looking for a specific, unlisted registration. Can you source it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you’re looking for a specific surname, business name, initials, or another registration that isn’t listed on our website, we can carry out a private search on your behalf. Simply submit a Bespoke Search request through our website, and we’ll use our network of private contacts, dealers and auctions to try and find the registration for you. We’ll handle the search discreetly and keep you updated throughout the process.

Question 7

Are there any hidden fees, such as DVLA transfer taxes?

Accepted Answer

No. We believe in being completely transparent about our pricing.

The agreed purchase price includes all standard DVLA transfer fees, administration and VAT, so there are no unexpected costs during the transfer. The only additional charge is our 5% sourcing fee (including VAT), which covers the work involved in finding, negotiating and securing the registration, as well as managing the entire transfer process from start to finish. You’ll always know exactly what you’re paying before you commit.

Question 8

How do you ensure the security of my funds during a transaction?

Accepted Answer

Trust and security are at the heart of everything we do. Every transaction is fully invoiced through our registered UK company, giving you complete transparency throughout the process. Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll send you a secure payment link for the initial 10% holding deposit. The remaining balance is then paid by bank transfer before the registration is transferred into your name. Every step is handled securely, and we’ll keep you updated throughout the process so you know exactly what’s happening from start to finish.

Question 9

What happens if I change my mind after a plate has been secured?

Accepted Answer

The 10% holding deposit allows us to reserve the registration exclusively for you and remove it from the market while we begin the acquisition process. As soon as we receive your deposit, we start contacting the seller, carrying out the necessary checks and managing the purchase on your behalf. If you decide not to complete the purchase after we’ve started this process, the deposit is non-refundable as it covers the time, work and costs involved in securing the registration.

Question 10

Can a private registration be transferred to a leased or financed vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in almost all cases. If your vehicle is on a contract hire, lease, or finance agreement, the registration can still be assigned to it. The process simply requires a brief coordination with your finance or leasing company to update their records with the DVLA. Our team can provide the exact guidance your provider will need to make this seamless.
