1. It’s just an object, why do you care so much? Is this really necessary?

Misgendering (unless it’s by accident) is an inherently offensive thing to do to a transgender or non-binary person. It’s the equivalent of calling someone a slur. If you were to let’s say call a fictional character a slur, everyone would be mad. While it doesn’t affect the character since they aren’t real, using slurs is still an inherently offensive thing to do, just as misgendering either a real life person or a fictional character is also offensive.

If you’re fine with gendering a male or female character correctly when corrected, but won’t do the same for a non-binary character, then it means you aren’t treating non binary individuals with the same respect as a cis person. For example, Leafy from BFDI is often mistaken for a male due to her masculine voice. If someone were to correct someone who referred to Leafy as a male and tell them “no she’s actually a girl” people would just gender her correctly and move on, so logically you should do the same for a they/them character.

2. Why is the movement only about PDA and not other they/them characters?

Accepted Answer

There are other movements dedicated to correcting a single character’s pronouns on other sites, not just this one. While that’s completely valid if you want there to be a movement for other character’s pronouns, this is specifically about PDA and it doesn’t have to be about every character.

3. Can we post about other Non-Binary object show characters who are constantly misgendered on r/PDAprnns?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you are allowed to do that but only as long as it includes PDA because that is what r/PDAprnns is for. PDA also happens to be more misgendered than other non-binary they/them characters. If you want movements for correcting the gender of other characters, why not maybe make them yourself?

Yes, but in their short they were only ever referred to as a they/them so it's the safe assumption that they are non-binary.

Accepted Answer

Because I can, simple as that. Some people enjoy other characters that don't get much screen time and that's fine.
