Here, loyalty and labour,
Are not given good price,
Nor do most of my neighbors,
Understand sacrifice,
So mine don't thank or cheer,
Hence I don't like it here.

At times they do good works,
But so often they steal.
Though they might keep their words,
Unwatched, they seldom will.
Although they might keep principles,
Generally they seek idols.

The bread, here, sure's, not bad,
but with whom can I break it?
Some women, here, are pretty
but which are good to wed?
Some men, here, fast and pray,
but which to God obey?

Not farmland, cattle, wives,
Nor castles, horses, guns
Would have me give up lives
Lit by shinier suns,
For all it takes I'd pay
Gladly, to go away.

But labour, loyalty,
And heartfelt sacrifice
Are, by The Almighty,
Accepted at good price,
So my way out I'll clear,
For I don't like it here.

The Hands that put me here,
Like Job, I thank and praise,
For the sweat, blood and tears,
That I so dearly shed,
They all spring from may Faith,
Which's all I've ever had.
