Just got back from a 5 day visit to Treehouse Lodge in March and can't recommend it highly enough. My husband and I visited primarily because we are birders, so birding was the main purpose of our visit. I had some reservations about booking a trip during wet season, since I thought that might either limit our time on excursions due to severe weather, or be more difficult to see birds and animals, but the exact opposite was true. Wet season is amazing! With the rivers in flood, boats can navigate anywhere, and can also take shortcuts over what is dry land in the dry season. We saw over a hundred different species of birds and a lot of other really interesting animals and bugs. We had mentioned at booking that we were birders, and I think because of that, we got hooked up with the dream team of Eddie (guide) and Gustavo (boat pilot). Eddie is also a birder, and made sure we found an array of species for us, and even got us good looks at Horned Screamers on multiple occasions because he heard me talking about how much I had wanted to see them. Eddie and Gustavo both were excellent companions to have exploring all the weird and cool nature there is to see. The lodge itself is wonderful. Cannot express how good the food was, especially considering the fact that you're in the middle of the jungle. All of the staff seemed like they really enjoyed their jobs and that Treehouse is probably a pretty good place to work at. There was construction of a new treehouse right by the lodge while we were there, but that was actually really interesting to see the progress that was made while we were there. The construction wasn't intrusive at all. Anyway, to sum: don't be afraid of wet season, the birding is amazing, food is absurdly good, Eddie and Gustavo rock, and staying at Treehouse is absolutely an incredible experience.

Incredible experience, the tours are great and you can tell the guides really care about both the jungle and the guest experience. Food is incredible and always interesting, rooms are spacious and beautiful. Well recommended, we stayed for only three days but wish it could’ve been longer.

It was my third time in this lodge and I had an amazing time like every time I visit that magical place. Every time I visit new places, see other animals and meet nice people. The hotel is really unique and the guides and boatdrivers are really friendly and know a lot about the forest and animals.

TLDR: This place is amazing and good for travelers of all ages. If you want an unforgettable trip, book it!||We just returned from a 3-night stay at the treehouse lodge. Happy to say it was absolutely amazing! We brought our three children ages 6, 9 and 11. The kids had an amazing time. A handful of highlights. | - Food: The food was absolutely amazing. Two of our kids are picky eaters and they ate everything. Lunch and dinner were three course meals and breakfast is a wonderful buffet with fresh juices, fruit, eggs and the best French toast I've ever had.| - Wildlife: There is a lot to see just walking around the lodge grounds. We saw huge toads, tree frogs, big centipedes, large spiders, owls and some bullet ants. If you are lucky enough to get a treehouse over the river you'll likely see monkeys every morning. Outside of the lodge we saw monkeys, sloths, caiman, lots of birds including scarlet macaws and pink and grey dolphins.| - Guide: Our guide Pepe was wonderful! Very knowledgeable and super friendly. He did very well with our kids. Our boat driver Jaiber was also awesome and amazing at spotting wildlife.|- Treehouse: The treehouse itself was amazing. We were in the largest treehouse #4, which sleeps 5 people. The treehouses are very sturdy and covered in netting. There is some shelving and a small area to hang some clothes. We didn't have any issues with bugs in our treehouse. One evening a small frog came in, but we radioed down and someone came and got it within a couple of minutes.|- Lodge: The lodge is great. It is where you eat but upstairs has hammocks, tables/chairs, chess boards etc. It's great for lounging in between excursions or if it's raining out.|- Excursions: All the excursions were well organized and as great as advertised! Highly recommend the night walk and if you have kids, the blow guns!||We had nearly zero issues with mosquitos during our trip (late Nov.). Any time you're walking around under the canopy you'll want your mosquito nets. We kept long sleeves and pants on at all times except when sleeping (shorts and t-shirt) but many other guests were in shorts and t-shirts when hanging out in the lodge.||Weather: You can expect it to rain most days but we only had one truly rainy day so we just re-organized our excursions and did the indoor blow-guns.||Packing: We felt we packed well (loose clothing, long sleeves/pants, light sleepware) but a couple things we would do differently. We wore tennis shoes and brought hiking boots. We didn't wind up needing hiking boots as they provide nice rubber boots when walking in the jungle. You also can probably get away without a raincoat as they have ponchos. If you're out on a boat and it starts raining, you'll want something to cover your legs (a poncho).||Tipping: This is an important part of the trip. You tip your boat driver, guide and the kitchen staff. There is not a lot of guidelines on how to tip. We tipped with a mix of Soles and USD. Here is a breakdown of our tips converted to USD.| - Kitchen: $100 | - Boat Driver: $150 | - Guide: $350||Thanks for a lifetime of memories Treehouse Lodge!

My family of 4 spent three days and two nights at the lodge. Amazing experience! The treehouses themselves are gorgeous and unique. Beautifully put together with great beds and lots of mosquito nets to keep the bugs out. Our guide Orlando was simply superb! Very kind, knowledgeable, and patient with my kids. The main lodge itself was also gorgeous and well stocked with games and books. And the food! Delicious and very varied! Plus they went out if their way to make sure my kids had kid friendly food. That said, they loved the Peruvian food so wasn't necessary. I will say this is a rustic lodge with no hot water and bugs still around. If you're looking for a Four Seasons in the Amazon this is not it. IMO it's better but it depends what you're looking for. This is more like high end glamping. Highly recommend!
