Iris is an interaction and game designer, and multi-disciplinary installation artist focused on accessibility and disability justice through the framework of crip-technoscience and experimental narrative design. They graduated with a Design MFA from UC Davis, with a double major in English and Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies, also from UC Davis. They helped pilot a remote access residency through Creative Connector, and were a research fellow at Critical Design Lab and creative director at QT Lab at UC Davis. They are an International Game Developer Foundation Velocity Exchange alumni, and were selected for the Metatopia Diversity Sponsorship for their experimental tabletop game based on queer ancient China court intrigue politics. Iris’s artistic research practice is focused on creating worlds and experiences that center the expansiveness of disability justice, and that disabled crips have always modified tech to suit the needs of their lived experience and access requirements.
