The 16mm MysteryRachel FerrettiPaperbackWhen a sudden tingling on her husband’s face led to the discovery of a 16mm lesion in his brainstem, a carefully built life with three young children was thrown into freefall. What followed was a blur of hospital hallways, conflicting medical opinions, late-night research, and a husband determined to use every tool available—including AI—to understand what was happening inside his own brain. As doctors searched for answers, one mother found herself holding everything together—parenting, marriage, and faith—all while carrying the quiet terror of not knowing what the future held for their family. Written with the keen pen of an investigative journalist to capture each crisp turn of the journey that brought more questions than answers, The 16mm Mystery is an unfiltered and intimate memoir that preserves playfulness and humor even when the worst-case scenario arrives without warning. It is a story of love under pressure, the limits of control, and the unexpected ways a family can be both broken and strengthened by uncertainty. For anyone who has ever sat in a waiting room and felt the ground shift beneath them, this book offers something rare: honesty, companionship, and the reminder that even in the middle of a crisis, life continues—and so does love.
