When did our board game journey begin?

December 2016!
Our first game was Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, initially a gift for my brother-in-law. But it tempted us too much—we unwrapped, played, and from there, our board game journey truly began! We got him something else instead (don’t remember what, but decided Robinson might have been too heavy for a casual player 😅).

Favorite Game for a Group Gathering?

Forbidden Stars – Luckily, my group loves this game just as much as my husband and I do! The depth, bluffs, emotions, great battles, and the wonderful Warhammer atmosphere really shine through. When it comes to something lighter for to a beer, Eclipse is our go-to! We love building ships and combining technologies to create strange flying contraptions. And of course, the battles and the randomness in the dice rolls bring some to tears and others to laughter at the misfortune of others. We also enjoy Clank! and The Quest for El Dorado as great options for lighter sessions.

If you could live in any board game world, which would you choose and why?

MmMMMmmmmm... I’m a fan of fantasy, so practically any game set in this world appeals to me. Vinhos, because I love wine! Or Galaxy Trucker! It seems simple, and you don’t die in it!

Most memorable game experience?

Accepted Answer

Clank! after a large amount of beer! How my brother got stuck in some incredibly difficult labyrinth between two caves and couldn’t get out. Overall, no one made it out of the dungeon, but to be honest, my brother didn’t even get in there!

Favorite Board Game Mechanic (deck-building, area control, etc.)?

My favorite board game mechanic is probably deck-building, but honestly, there are many mechanics I enjoy. What I really love is when the theme of the game and its mechanics come together perfectly!

If You Could Invent a Board Game, What Would It Be About?

Accepted Answer

A game where you can upgrade your spaceships, add and swap out ship modules, defend cargo, complete missions, fly through space, engage in battles, etc. It would be a bit like a pick-up and delivery game, right? That would be really interesting, and I don’t think I know of a game like that!

It sounds like a game that combines ship customization and space exploration, with an action-packed edge! Ok maybe its similar to Firefly Boardgame :D

Nope! I’m a hobbyist who loves taking photos, but I’m definitely not a pro. I only photograph games from my personal collection with my old Canon EOS 400D.
