Where can I park to move in?

Accepted Answer

You'll have 30 minutes to transfer your items from your vehicles to the dorm while parked in the lots next to the building. Once your 30 minutes is over, you will need to move out of the move-in parking lots. Student vehicles will need to move to lot 321 and parent vehicles to Harmon Parking Garage. More information on the locations of these lots can be found at https://parking.uark.edu. Ask a team member in a red shirt if you need more directions.

What if I don't have a move-in hang tag?

When you arrive at your scheduled time, a team member will write you a tag for your two vehicles. You will still have 30 minutes to move your items up to your room.

There's something broken in my room! What do I do?

Accepted Answer

It happens! When you arrive on move-in day, you'll be asked to fill out a room inspection form, or RIF, as we call them. Please be thorough with this RIF, as it's all we have to go off of at the end of the year if there's damage. If there's damage to anything in your room that you want to have fixed by maintenance, fill out a UARK FixIT request.

Where do I get lunch?

Dine on campus locations will be open throughout the move-in week. We have the Pomfret dining hall in our building on the ground floor. You can download the Dine on Campus app for up-to-date information and hours of operation.

Question 5

How can I get my bed lofted?

Accepted Answer

There are a few options for lofting your bed. You can ask for your bed to be lofted through the FixIT system. There's a link at the bottom of this page for you to access these requests. You are also free to loft your own bed and mallets are available for checkout at the front desk.

Where can I check out move-in equipment?

Accepted Answer

The front desk has moving dollies, mallets, and other equipment you may need available for check-in. Bring your student ID or driver's license to exchange for these items. Unless otherwise noted, all items must be returned by 5 p.m. the day you check them out. All items are on a first-come-first-served system.

Where does my trash go?

Accepted Answer

During move-in week and select weeks throughout the year trash chutes are locked. During these periods you can find large orange dumpers outside. Do not leave trash in hallways or bathrooms, doing so can incur fines for the floor.

Once move-in has ended and the large orange dumpsters get hauled away, there are trash chutes located near the elevators in every building.

Where do I do my laundry?

Accepted Answer

Laundry machines are located on the first floor of Pomfret Hall, right outside the elevators. Your room and board fees cover two wash and two dry cycles per week. No need to get a roll of quarters out, just download the Speed Queen app and log in with your UARK credentials. More info can be found at https://housing.uark.edu/services/laundry.php

What happens if we have severe weather?

Severe weather instructions will be provided during any emergency, but for those who want a heads up, here's our plan. If and when the tornado sirens sound, there will be an audio alert in the dorm. When this happens, please move towards the nearest interior bathroom away from windows and exterior walls. Do not use elevators until the audio alert in the dorm indicates the threat has passed. If you have more questions, feel free to ask your RA.

Where is the nearest dining hall?

1021 Dining Hall is just in our backyard and includes several options for breakfast and lunch every day for meal swipes. 1021 is open 6:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 10:30 am - 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

The Union Food Court includes several restaurants that take dining dollars before 4:30pm Monday through Friday, and meal trades 4:30pm-9:30pm Monday through Friday.

Pomfret Dining Hall is also a short walk away and includes all you care to eat for breakfast through dinner. Pomfret Dining Hall hours vary, so check the Dine on Campus app for current operating hours.

What happens if I’m locked out?

Call the RA on duty phone number, and an RA will come and unlock your door. Lockouts are free for your first two. After your second lockout, they are $25 each. If you lose your keys completely and need a new set, you’ll let the RA know, and they will start the process. You can expect a $100+ charge on your student account for the lock change and new keys.

The Pat Walker Health Center is your one stop shop for all your healthcare needs on campus. Schedule an appointment online at myhealth.uark.edu. Note: there are charges associated with visiting the PWHC and the front desk staff there can explain those.
