Where do we meet?

Unless communicated otherwise, headruns will start in front of the McGill Currie Gym, on Avenue Des Pins.

Show up to your run on time! You should aim to arrive at least 5-10 minutes early.

What should I do before starting?

1. Take attendance (and ensure everyone present is a member) using the guides below. The easiest way is using the McRUN app.

2. Have everyone introduce themselves! McRun is a great way to make friends in an inclusive space.

3. Go over the course / distance / pace, and provide any tips you have for the runners. Runners can then decide which group they'd like to tag along with.

And during the headrun?

Safety is priority. Follow your designated pace and stay attentive.

Make sure to record your runs using your preferred app (e.g. Strava, Apple Fitness, etc.), which we will forward to runners.

In addition, please take pictures if possible! We love boosting awareness of McRUN on our social media pages, and showing large groups of runners is a great way to do so.

Question 4

After the headrun?

Accepted Answer

Once your headrun is completed, congratulate your runners and encourage them to come back.

Send any run details (e.g. distance, duration, pace, elevation, map, etc.) by screenshot.

Make sure to add us to your Strava Run to get those stats.

If you took pictures, make sure to send them too!

Question 5

What if no one shows up to my pace group?

If numbers are too low, you can join another pace group just long as everyone is comfortable with the speed.

If you notice that your pace group doesn't have many attendees, please reach out to the exec team and we will do our best to improve your numbers.

Question 6

What if I cannot make it to my headrun?

Accepted Answer

If you will miss a headrun (due to illness, an exam, etc.), you can contact your fellow head runners by messenger and find a replacement.

If no one can cover you, contact the exec team.

Why should I use it?

The McRUN app offers multiple features such as:
1. Consult the list of registered members;
2. Find a member using their unique QR code using a digital pass;
3. Update a member's fee status;
4. Add a new member (for newcomers on your head run)
5. Submit the attendance for your head run - or any McRUN event.
