Do I need to be good at darts to join?

Absolutely not. We’ve got players of all levels - from complete beginners who’ve never played competitively to experienced league players. They're all friendly and open to offering tips and friendly guidance.

I’ve never played in a darts team before - can I still come?

Yes. Many of our players joined without any team experience. We’ll help you understand the format, scoring, etiquette and how matches work.

When do you play?

We meet every Monday from 7pm–10pm at Kingswood Village Club for practice, games and club nights.

League matches and competitions often happen on the same night, so it can be super fun!

Do I need my own darts?

Not at first. If you’re new, just come along and give it a try. Most players eventually buy their own darts once they know what suits them. Although we would strongly recommend you bring your own.

Is there a membership fee?

If you enjoy the social side of darts, the club offers an annual membership for £25. Members receive a significant discount on drinks, so it often pays for itself over time. More importantly, your membership helps support the wider club and the valuable role it plays in the local community.

What happens on social nights?

A typical night might include:

Practice games
Friendly matches
Internal league games
Cup matches
Coaching/tips from experienced players
Social time with the team

It’s competitive when needed, but always friendly.

Can I join the league team?

Potentially - but we want to be transparent about how it works.

Our league teams are competitive environments, so places aren’t guaranteed straight away. We currently have a strong group of regular players and selection is based on factors such as attendance, form, attitude and what’s best for the team on match nights.

That said, we’re always open to welcoming new players who are committed to improving and being part of the club. Many of our current players started by attending club nights regularly, getting involved in internal competitions and proving they were ready for league matches.

If your goal is to play league darts, come down, meet the team and get involved - we’ll always look to create opportunities for players who show commitment and want to improve.

How long does social darts last?

Social nights typically run until around 10pm, we say get there for 6:30pm so we can get started by 7pm.

Do I need to know how to score?

No - we can teach you.

Many new players worry about scoring, but it becomes second nature quickly. We’ll show you how to score properly and help you learn common finishes.

What if I’m nervous about coming alone?

That’s completely normal.

A lot of people come on their own for the first time. We’re a welcoming group and we’ll make sure you feel comfortable.

Is it serious or just social?

We take league matches seriously and want to improve, but we also pride ourselves on creating a fun, welcoming environment where people enjoy playing.

Is the club open to everyone?

Yes - Kingswood Village Darts Club welcomes all players, regardless of experience level, gender or background. Whether you’ve played for years or you’re picking up darts for the first time, you’ll be made to feel welcome.

We’re proud to be building a friendly, inclusive club where people can enjoy darts, improve their game and meet new people in a respectful environment.

The only restriction is that players must be 18 or over, as we operate from a licensed venue.

Do I have to play every week?

No. We understand people have work, family and other commitments. Regular attendance helps improve your game, but there’s no pressure.

Simple - send us a message on social media or just come down on a Monday night and introduce yourself.

First session is all about players and having a throw.
