Heart Surgery Experience – KG Hospital, Coimbatore
My father recently underwent a MICS (Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery) robotic bypass surgery performed by Dr. Arunkumar at KG Hospital, located in Coimbatore.
From the initial consultation through the surgery and post-operative care, our overall experience was very positive. The medical team clearly explained the diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and expected recovery timeline. This transparency helped us feel confident and prepared throughout the process.
The hospital staff — including doctors, nurses, and support teams — were professional, attentive, and responsive. The pre-surgery coordination and post-surgery monitoring were handled efficiently. The insurance processing was also smooth, with proper guidance provided at every step, which reduced a lot of stress during a difficult time.
It has now been a little over three weeks since the surgery, and my father is recovering well. Thanks to the minimally invasive approach, his recovery has been relatively faster. Within a week, he was able to manage his basic daily activities independently, which was encouraging for our family. His follow-up reviews have also been systematic and reassuring.
While no one prefers to be in a hospital unless necessary, based on our experience, I would confidently recommend KG Hospital and Dr. Arunkumar for anyone requiring cardiac-related procedures, especially minimally invasive bypass surgery. Our experience was reassuring, well-managed, and professionally handled from start to finish.

We are extremely grateful for the care my father-in-law received at the KG hospital during his MICS CABG. Dr Arunkumar and his team did a wonderful job. Dr Lakshmanan was very kind and has been really helpful. The whole team was fantastic and they explained everything clearly, and made sure we felt reassured at every stage. The surgery went well, and his recovery was surprisingly quick, which is a testament to their expertise and the quality of care provided. The nursing staff, and support team were also excellent. Special mention to Sudha for always being so kind, responsive, and she made sure everything was well coordinated. The only area that could use improvement is the hospital food, which did not quite meet the same high standards as the medical care. My father-in-law did not like the food at all during the stay and this is the only negative experience. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this hospital, especially Dr Arunkumar and Dr Lakshmanan, to anyone needing cardiac surgery. Thank you to the entire team for taking such good care of him.

We had a very good experience at KG Hospital for my father’s treatment. Dr. Arunkumar Ulaganathan performed a minimally invasive heart surgery, and we truly felt we were in safe hands. He is calm, confident, and highly skilled in handling complex cases. Special thanks to his team, especially Mrs. Sudha and Dr. Pooja, who were very supportive throughout. The hospital is well organized, and the medical section nurses — especially on the 7th floor — were outstanding, extremely caring, attentive, and professional. A couple of areas for improvement: the canteen food for bystanders needs better consistency, and the surgery section nursing staff could improve slightly in professionalism and communication. Overall, we are very grateful for the successful surgery and the care provided. I would confidently recommend KG Hospital and Dr. Arunkumar for cardiac procedures, especially minimally invasive surgeries.
