Who is my Academic Advisor?

Can I change my schedule?

After you meet with an Academic Advisor over the summer and confirm your registered courses, you do have the chance to change anything for any reason.
• If you need to make schedule adjustments during the summer, defer back to the Academic Advisor your met or reach out to the AAC academicachievement@bridgew.edu or 508.531.1214.
• You can also make changes during the add/drop period, which is always the first week of every semester. If you need assistance at this time, you can drop-in to see us in person in the AAC located on the bottom floor of the library, or meet virtually. Where are my AP credits?

AP scores come out in July. Keep an eye on college board and, once your scores are ready, indicate that you want them sent to Bridgewater State University. At that point, it can take approximately 2 weeks for BSU to receive and upload your scores for course credit. The Academic Achievement Center will notify you via email if you need course schedule changes when your AP scores are in. You can also check with the admissions office to see if they've been received: admission@bridgew.edu or 508-531-1237

Where are my Duel Enrollment or other transfer credits?

If you did not take a course at BSU, you must send your transcript from the college you completed your credits from. Transcripts can be sent electronically. You can find the information on how to order them usually by visiting that college's admissions website or contacting their admissions office directly. Once the transcript is sent, it can take 2-3 weeks for BSU to receive and process your transfer credits.

How do I get my accommodations?

If you had an IEP or 504 in high school, or have an injury, contact Student Accessibility Services to make sure you have access to your accommodations!  Even if you think you won't use them, it's important to get them set up in case there's any situation where you would need them.

Where can I buy my books?

You can order books online from the BSU bookstore at https://www.bkstr.com/bridgewaterstatestore/home or visit on campus at East Campus Commons (ECC) (125 Burrill Ave).
• At the website, go to Textbooks (or the book icon) - type in your BEAR ID - select the term. Depending on how early, some courses may not have books posted yet, so keep checking.
• FYI: The campus bookstore isn't always the cheapest option. My favorite website to compare book prices all together from chegg, amazon, abebooks, etc is: http://www.slugbooks.com

Where can I get a copy of my syllabus?

Instructors usually post their syllabus on Blackboard (mybsu.bridgew.edu - Blackboard). Every class you take will have an online blackboard course attached to it (most professors will post grades there, too).

You will usually have access to each of your Blackboard courses roughly 24-48 hours before the first day of the semester. You can try requesting a copy of your syllabus earlier by emailing the instructors. Keep in mind that, over the summer, many instructors don't teach and may be monitoring their email less frequently.

To find your instructors, you can view them listed on your schedule in Infobear (Student - Student Profile - Student Schedule). Go to your email, type their name into the "To" line and they should come up for you automatically.
