Come join us to spectate the Atkin Chambers International Arbitration Moot Finals held at Atkin Chambers on the 5th of March at 6:00pm onwards! It will be a fierce round of mooting followed by a networking session with barristers of Atkin Chambers and fellow mooters at the Chamber itself. The dress code will be business casual, but it is recommended to come in a court-appropriate outfit. Sign up now as there are very limited spaces available! You will only be allowed entry to the chamber upon proof of a confirmation email that you are one of the spectators.

The Nottingham Moot Cup (NMC) is the University of Nottingham’s flagship mooting competition, now entering its fourth year. It will be held in-person at the University of Nottingham’s Trent Building on Sunday, 29 March 2026. The competition is divided into two categories: Advanced and Beginner - KCL will be sending one team (of two participants) to compete in each category (total two teams). Advanced Category Details Focus area: Public Law (provisional) Teams should consist of students who have previously participated in at least one external moot and/or more than two internal moots. Priority will be given to more senior students for this category. Teams will prepare for and moot as both Appellants and Respondents. Beginner Category Details Focus area: Law of Tort (provisional) Teams should consist of students who have not mooted externally and have taken part in no more than two internal moots. Teams will prepare for and moot as both Appellants and Respondents.

The first round will be held at KCL Strand Campus (TBD). The semi-finals and finals held at Atkin Chambers judged by Atkin Chamber barristers, with a networking session afterwards till 8pm. KCLBMS is proud to announce yet another iteration of our Aqeel H Noorali Moot Cup. This competition is held yearly in honor of Aqeel H Noorali, a KCL alum and barrister of 9 Gough Chambers (now Deka Chambers), who passed away suddenly at the age of 33 in 2020. The final will be judged by leading barristers, and the winner will win a mini-pupillage and their name engraved in our Noorali trophy! The first round will be a submitted written and recorded oral round with the selected finalists being held in Deka Chambers. The relevant dates and deadlines will be below. Sign up now! KCLBMS is proud to announce our most prestigious advocacy competition, the Annual Graveson Cup! This year's competition will span three rounds, with the first taking place on 20th February (in person). In order to take part, you must have won or been a finalist in at least one KCLBMS Moot or Mock Trial (the moot or mock trial does not need to have been this academic year). The finals last year were be judged by Sir David Foskett, Lady Justice Andrews and David Travers KC and we are looking forward to having another incredible panel at this year's final. Additionally, the winner's name will be engraved on the Graveson Cup.

Our speakers will share practical insights into pupillage applications, interviews, and life during pupillage, including how to stand out on paper, perform confidently at interview, and prepare for the realities of practice. They will also reflect on what they wish they had known earlier and answer questions from students. This workshop is ideal for students at any stage who are considering the Bar and want clear, honest guidance on securing pupillage. The KCL Bar & Mooting Society is happy to announce Mock Trial at the RCJ. Taking place across two rounds, this competition consists of a plea in mitigation, and a mock trial. HHJ Dwight has generously offered to judge the finals of this competition and host the finals within the Royal Courts of Justice (Yes, wigs and gowns for the finals are provided!). The first round shall take place online with submissions due by the 15th of February and the finals are to be hosted and judged by HHJ Dwight in the Royal Courts of Justice on the 18th of March. Dunelm English Mock Trial Championships Application Form
The Dunelm English Mock Trial Championship is a national, inter-varsity advocacy competition hosted by Durham University's Bar Society. The Championships comprises: An online Semi-Final (tentatively scheduled for w/c 16th February) An in-person Grand Final in Durham (March), on a Saturday or Sunday Last year's Grand Final was judged by Lord Hughes of Ombersley. The Championships are open to both law and non-law students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. KCL will send one team of two students to represent the university at the Championships as well as one reserve team. It is imperative that you ensure you are available for the outlined dates of the competition above, before applying.

The KCLBMS presents an introduction to mooting workshop conducted by Sean Woon. Sean is presently a fourth-year Politics, Philosophy, and Law student. He has competed for KCL as an oralist in the 2024 Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the 2025 Jessup Public International Law Moot. He also coaches the current KCL Vis Moot team. Additionally, he has had professional exposure to oral and written advocacy, having completed an international arbitration internship at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer’s Singapore office, and a mini-pupillage at Quadrant Chambers.
