Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic condition that affects approximately 6-30% of
people with ovaries. PCOS is often viewed as a reproductive related disorder, however it is
associated with psychological distress including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, body
image concerns, and fertility related grief. Emerging research suggests that Adverse Childhood
Experiences (ACEs) may increase vulnerability to PCOS through chronic stress exposure and
dysregulation. This poster highlights key findings and counseling implications.
