LOOK NO FUTHER!! What an absolute discovery. I've started trying to buy more British made goods, with everything being so expensive nowadays (yes, you IKEA), you may as well pay a bit more and get something hand-made that will last a lifetime. I live in Brighton, so visiting the showroom in Hastings wasn't too difficult. Michael was wonderful, and let me sit on pretty much every sofa they had, and ask a thousand questions. I feel reluctant to give away their main secret, but as manufacturers for the big high street furniture retailers, when you buy direct you are literally paying half what you would if you bought the exact same sofa from the high street. And it's 100% bespoke, you choose the covers, the filling, the legs, everything. I went for feather filled backs and feather filled seat, 10% over-stuffed to give it that 'Soho House" look as Michael put it. The customer service was above and beyond at every stage, when I needed a Thursday delivery, one of their senior designers, Danny, drove the van from Hastings to Brighton, just so they could deliver on time. Needless to say the sofa is amazing, like sitting on a cloud, and I know it will last me a lifetime. What a great, family owned, British company, and that rarest of things, the highest quality and craftsmanship at an incredibly sharp price, because you are buying direct and cutting out the middle man. 5 stars all the way for The Hastings Sofa Company.
