What’s the minimum age to join Flex Fitness Stonefields?

The minimum age is 14 years old, but conditions apply depending on age:

✅ Ages 14–15:

Membership requires parental consent

A parent must act as guarantor and be present at signup

No 24-hour access

Can train outside staffed hours ONLY when accompanied by a parent who’s a member.

Otherwise, restricted to staffed hours

✅ Ages 16–17:

Can access the gym 24/7

Still requires parental consent, a guarantor, and in-person signup with a parent

Must provide original ID for age verification

✅ Age 18+:

No restrictions. You’re good to go!

Do you have youth, student or senior memberships?

*Youth Membership School Student

✅ Ages 14–15 - 12 month term

No restrictions

Can I try Flex Fitness before joining?

Accepted Answer

We are not currently offering Free Trials due to the volume of requests and the impact on your member experience.

Want to test the waters? We do offer casual entry during staffed hours, which gives you full access.

If you decide to sign up afterwards, we’ll refund your casual fee—simple as that.

⚠️ Note: Casual sessions are only permitted during staffed hours. No after-hours access without an active membership for member safety and compliance.

Question 4

Are there any membership restrictions?

For the first 30 days of your membership, access will only be available at your home club.  After this initial period, your membership entitles you to utilise any Flex Fitness facility across New Zealand as a Reciprocal Club user.

Clubs reserve the right to waive that restriction except for promotions (after 30 days), complimentary or concession membership (no reciprocal access).

Additional services are not included if not included in your home club membership.

Question 5

Can I use other Flex Fitness gyms?

Yes — Flex Fitness memberships include access to other Flex locations nationwide!

Some gyms offer additional services that will not be included in a gym only membership, additional fees apply.

For the first 30 days of your membership, access will only be available at your home club.  After this initial period, your membership entitles you to utilise any Flex Fitness facility across New Zealand as a Reciprocal Club user.

Can I bring a non-member in?

🚫 Non-Members: For safety, security, and member experience, access to Flex Fitness Stonefields is limited to current members only outside staffed hours.

Non-members are not permitted to enter or train without an active membership, penalty fees apply for members who break this condition

During staffed hours casual rates apply to non-members.

Question 7

When are staff onsite at Flex Fitness Stonefields?

Our typical staffed hours are:

Monday to Thursday: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Friday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Saturday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Sunday & Public Holidays: Unstaffed

Christmas/New Year: Reduced hours apply

Staffed times are when casual visits and in-person support can happen—outside those, it's member-access only.

For reason beyond our control staff may not be available during the advertised hours.  In the rare occasion this happens  non members are not able to tour or use the gym.

Question 8

Can I pause my membership?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can put your membership on hold with a minimum suspension period of 4 weeks. We’ll also consider shorter breaks if they’re over 2 weeks, depending on your situation.

A small $5 fee applies per week (or part week) while your membership is suspended.

Do you have Personal Trainers onsite?

Yes, we do! Our certified Personal Trainers are onsite daily and offer tailored programs, expert guidance, and real-time support whether you're just starting out or chasing serious performance goals.
