Often, a simple puddle is the only thing I need to find inspiration in while shooting in the city. I like the impressionistic feel of a blurry puddle with an air of mystery that beckons you to linger for just a little longer.

In Relation To The Wind

I love the busy cacophony of a coffee shop and somehow, I think better amid the noise. For years, I worked in the restaurant business and the noise calms me, makes me feel comfortable and focused. I was lost in thought when I noticed this reflection in the window, and for a while I considered the multiple layers that I was seeing and how they were in constant motion, reflecting the motion of the street and people inside. Eventually, a man came and sat and inspired me to pick up my camera.
This photo is important to me for several reasons. First, I often shoot reflections, but around the time I took this image, my work had begun to develop in finding multiple layers to help describe the obscurities that I was seeing, and this particular image was a catalyst in understanding this. Second, several days after I took this, the pandemic arrived, lockdown began and trips to the coffee shops ended for a time, taking with it this cacophony that I find so dear.

Cacophony And Coffee

I watched this man cross the overpass from below and loved the way his shadow began to get bigger and more pronounced as he walked over me, reminding me of an aura emanating from him.

AURA

I love the sunrise in Poznan, especially in March when I took this shot. The sun comes up perfectly in line with the streets running east, and walking into the old market (Stary Ryenk) is a show of delicious shadows and brilliant light.

Cynosure; a person or thing that is the centre of attention or admiration. Who is your cynosure? 
For me, finding a person walking into the light ahead of me will always be the center of my attention, especially in the autumn when the sun lazily works its way over the city, casting long, deep shadows and beautiful moody atmospheres.

Cynosure

This row of trees is pure magic during the autumn mornings. It's a prefect time to experience the light streams that pour through the trees and catch someone enjoying that very same magic, soaking in the filtered sun and walking with a little more confidence.

A Certain Confidence

Exposed In The Light Collection

First time in Porto and I am in love! So many vibrant colors, interesting shadows and fantastic opportunities for street photography. I found this yellow wall with deep shadows creeping along it and was completely enamored by it. And as luck would have it, this man walked past just as I snapped this shot. Timing is everything.

Signs Of Life Shadow

While waiting for a friend, I noticed the shadows creeping along the wall as people passed by. The artistic swirls of graffiti made it feel like the credits to an urban film that I would like to see.

He moved in a slow, lazy way that caught my eye as the shadow stretched out from above in the afternoon light.

Leisurely Shadow

I enjoy the urban landscape of Warsaw, and these giant buildings make for an interesting backdrop as people rush by. I was looking for a place that I could catch people in shadow to accentuate the dynamic appeal of the buildings.

Man On My Back Shadow

While visiting the lovely Tri_city are with my partner, we decided to take a day trip and walk the coast through the forest to the Baltic. The sun made a beautiful appearance through the trees and standing with her appreciating it, I snapped this photo of us, together. 
This is a very dear photo to me, and I hope that the right person will appreciate the significance of it. 
Its the only Analog film image in this collection.

Together In Shadow

A perfect slice of light in the afternoon sun gave me the best opportunity to catch some people walking by. Interestingly, I wasn't looking for a direct shadow, but was hoping to catch a person as they passed. This man was kind enough to walk behind me, giving me an even better opportunity.
