Not a mission or mandate, but a love letter:
The ethos of ElseEase Advocay is that Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts must be grounded in human rights, intersectionality, and lived experiences. We support rights holders, duty bearers, and allies with actionable accessibility and accommodations for episodic and invisible disabilities, specifically mental illness.
We believe in sustaining the fight toward equity, belonging and liberation by cultivating space to rest and honour our ease.
We call in, instead of call out. We ebb and flow. We laugh, and we weep.
We believe in accountability without shame and self-hatred.
We challenge what makes a “good” activist or ally, and embrace nuance.
We reject toxic individualism and ableist activism, in favor of community, care and hope.
In doing so, we strive to bring more people, with their innate gifts and stories, to the conversation and focus our collective energies where they are most needed:
high impact actions, justice, repair, education, and joy. <3
