Beware of EG Auctions. Bought 1972 GMC 1500 on auction in Edmonton in 2023. EG listed truck as “real deal short box” and Sierra trim level. Both incorrect. Frame had been shortened and trim level was custom. Oh and engine was toast. Well they got their money.

Saw the videos of the auction at Rust Bros Restorations, excellent job and turnout from what I could tell. Hope Mike was happy with the results at the end of the day. Thumbs up. 👍

I decided this winter to put my 1972 Chevrolet Short-box up  for sale but was not looking forward to dealing with the keyboard warriors, tire kickers, lowballers, random people scoping out the contents of my garage or the guys who nitpick the entire build trying to get a better deal.  I had seen Todd on Rust Valley Restorer’s and thought I would look EG Auctions up.  After reviewing their website I decided to take a drive to Sylvan Lake and check them out in person.  We were greeted by Taygan and a couple of feline friends and given a tour of their shop and showroom.  After I showed her the pictures of my truck on my IPad, she engaged Todd to look at the pictures and go through the sales process.  Todd was honest about a few items that would likely hurt the value but didn’t recommend changing them prior to trying to sell the truck.  He recommended putting the truck on consignment and including it in the Red Deer auction March 14.  I thought about it on the way home and decided to proceed.  After repairing a couple of minor items, we loaded up the truck and delivered it to EG.  Eg took over the process from there, giving the truck a final clean, taking pictures and marketing it on the various social media sites and including it in the auction listing. They handled all of the inquiries from that point on and a couple of days before the auction, Todd called me up and said they had a serious buyer in the shop and asking my absolute bottom line.  I told him and the next thing I knew, he had a deal done.  Payment to me was done in a timely manner and overall I was very satisfied with the results- yes it cost me a few bucks in sales commission but very worth it in my mind.  Taygan and Todd were both excellent to deal with and made the whole process a pleasant experience.  I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to sell a classic and wants to eliminate the hassle.
