This website contains a variety of links, files, PDFs, websites, a blog, and some pictures to inspire students to create their own presentations about their own budgets.  They will all be used with a basic lesson that will follow the Idaho core standards. The first PDF is the lesson plan.  The next link is a Podcast called the Frugal Friends.  This will be used to help the students learn some quick ways to save themselves some money so that they can live on a budget.  This will be played for them, and they will need to choose at least 1 idea to use in their presentation to save money. The Fred Meyer and Walmart Websites are there to help them research on their own how much food and household items cost to make their budgets. The apartment design plans were mostly there for ambiance, and underneath I included a quick you tube videos that gives them some money saving ideas when renting your first apartment.  This will be shown before they research apartments and rental costs.

After the video is watched there are 2 different sites that have local apartments available for rent along with prices that they can use to estimate costs for their budget presentation.  they will do their own research and show pictures of an apartment the feel that they can afford. Underneath that is a quick flashcard quiz that they will get a chance to play. They will have 30 cards. All of these cards have items on them that they can buy.  They must choose if it is something they feel that they can afford or not.  After they choose their career and know approximately what they will make then they will choose 3 cards and estimate without actually adding to see if they can afford them.  They will continue to choose cards and can prioritize what they want to keep and what they do not want to keep. The object is to see how many cards they can successfully fit into their budget. Then there are 2 PDFs with budget worksheets on them. One is just an example of how detailed you can get.

This complicated one can also give them ideas of the bills that they should include in their budgets.  Then I gave them a simple budget worksheet that they should be able to use without getting too detailed. Under that there are 2 popular websites where they can research jobs and how much the average person is paid for those jobs. This way they an estimate how much income they will have. Finally, I included a link to Dave Ramsey's podcast. This will be an optional tool that they can listen to in order to understand how to manage their money more effectively.   Using all of this information together should help them to build a strong, detailed budget and presentation.

This is a simpler version that someone can follow who has less bills and who needs to set up an easy budget.  This is the budget design that I will give to my students to help the design their budgets.

This would be a great budget to get ideas from or for a person to use for their monthly budget.  This will probably be a bit confusing for the students that I teach but it is a great way to get ideas of what bills they may need to look at.
