He began originating loans in 2005 and has since worked as a loan officer, a third-party processor, an underwriting and documentation reviewer, and most recently as a capital markets lock desk analyst, where his job was rate locks, pricing, and loan-level price adjustments. That combination matters to investors. Structure drives price on an investment property loan: the way a file is put together determines the rate, the credits, and whether the deal pencils. Sam knows where those levers are because he has worked on both sides of them, and at peak he was managing and closing 16 to 17 files a month. He holds a BBA in Finance from Weber State University.
