Question 3

How do I know if I’m enrolled in RTM?

Your Physical Therapist will talk with you about RTM and offer it as part of your care plan. They can enroll you in RTM at any time!

Once enrolled, you'll receive a welcome email and an in-app message from your RTM provider—your Virtual Care Navigator—who is a licensed ATI Physical Therapist Assistant.

Does RTM replace my visits with my physical therapist?

You will continue seeing your Physical Therapist for all your regularly scheduled
visits, but now you’ll also have the added support of your Virtual Care Navigator between appointments!

They are available to assist with exercise demonstrations, provide education, guidance, app support, and more.

You’ll have real-time access to this support through direct messaging in our app, email, and phone or video calls.

What does RTM cost?

Most insurance plans cover RTM because it helps patients reach their recovery goals!

ATI is unable to provide an estimate of RTM cost because it is based on your plan and deductible. Like other medical or therapy services, you may be responsible for out-of-pocket costs.

Who should I contact?

When to Contact Your Insurance Provider:

- To verify if RTM is covered under your plan.
- To ask about deductibles, co-pays, or coinsurance related to RTM or other services.
- To understand why a claim was denied or not fully covered.
- To get details about network coverage or out-of-network costs.
- To confirm how much of your benefits remain for therapy services.

- If you see a charge on your bill that seems incorrect.

Question 7

I no longer want to be enrolled in RTM, what do I do?

No problem! Call, email, or send an in-app message to your Virtual Care Navigator, or let your Physical Therapist know directly.

It’s best to notify your Virtual Care Navigator or Physical Therapist as soon as possible to avoid potential charges.

Why does my bill say I had a Telehealth visit when I never used Telehealth services?

RTM services must be billed under a location, and since our billing system doesn’t have a separate category for RTM, we use the Telehealth designation linked to your clinic’s state—like "Tele-AZ" for Arizona. This is just a billing requirement and doesn’t mean you had an actual Telehealth visit.

Question 9

Why is the RTM "Tele visit" date showing as a Saturday, Sunday, or a day of the week when I didn’t attend any therapy or talk to my RTM clinician that day?

For billing purposes, we often use Sundays or other days that don’t overlap with your regular therapy sessions to help keep records clear and avoid conflicts. RTM is not a visit, so the billing date doesn't reflect a specific interaction on that date.

Question 10

Why am I being billed for an RTM “Tele visit” with a date that occurred after I was discharged from Physical Therapy?

Accepted Answer

RTM services can continue even after your formal discharge to help support your recovery at home. Additionally, RTM is billed based over a 30 day period of time—not by visit—the billing date may fall after your discharge once billing requirements are met.
