What is Born To Shine?

Born to Shine Prom is an annual event that began in 2020. It is a prom designed for students in the Chippewa Valley with special needs or an IEP.

Leading up to the event, attendees have the opportunity to select a prom dress, shoes, and accessories. On the morning of the Prom, participants are invited to enjoy complimentary hair styling, makeup, and nail services.

During the event, each attendee receives a crown, sash, and flowers. Professional photos are taken to capture the memories. The evening is filled with music provided by a DJ, a photo booth, pizza, desserts, special appearances by Disney Princesses & Superheroes, goodie bags, and much more.

What do volunteers do?

There are many ways to get involved!
Help support Born to Shine Prom by volunteering at various fundraising events throughout the year.
Day-of-Prom volunteer opportunities include:
💫Assisting with event setup and tear-down
💫Checking in attendees
💫Serving as a 1:1 chaperone or attendee assistant
💫And much more!

We are happy to report that 100% of your donation goes directly toward creating a magical night for our attendees

Who can attend Born To Shine Prom?

Accepted Answer

Attendees are typically high school freshmen through young adults up to age 24 (with some exceptions considered).
This event is open to young adults in the Chippewa Valley with special needs or an IEP.
