Baby Combat

Baby Combat is the recording project of Singaporean songwriter Noel Yeo, now based in Portland, Oregon. Yeo previously fronted Singapore indie band Shelves before starting Baby Combat in New York City in 2018 as a way to write, record, and release songs on his own terms. The project began with a self-imposed challenge—one single a month for a year—which he completed before collecting the songs on his debut album, 12. Since then, Baby Combat has moved between indie pop, noisy rock, and post-punk friction, but its center remains simple: a song has to hit. Yeo makes fuzzy, hook-led guitar songs about doubt, persistence, and the complications that arrive after you have already decided to keep going.
