Minister Amir J. Ray is a chosen and powerful voice for this generation, called from a very young age to preach and proclaim the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ. Born on May 5, 2002, Minister Ray publicly stepped into his divine calling when he delivered his first sermon at just 11 years old at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, under the spiritual leadership and guidance of Pastor Frank J. Knolton Sr. Over the course of his foundational ministry, he has had the distinct honor of meeting and working alongside many amazing and well-known faith leaders. Driven by a deep passion to impact the youth, he has successfully cultivated and spearheaded life-changing events, including dynamic youth nights, youth summits, youth explosions, and weekly Sunday morning teachings. He continues his faithful journey as an active, dedicated youth and young adult leader of Bethel Temple Baptist Church, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Damon M. Moseley. As a strategic leader focused on kingdom advancement, Minister Ray is the visionary founder of Young Preachers Connect Inc., a thriving ministry that just launched and is now officially licensed to operate as a business in the state of Michigan. Under this powerful new corporate umbrella, he hosted the highly impactful "Young Preachers Connect Conference." This multi-state gathering was specifically engineered to enrich, sharpen, build up, and enlighten emerging preachers across state lines, helping them discover who they are in God and stay focused on serving Him. To properly prepare for his calling, Minister Ray pursued formal theological courses at Dallas Theological Seminary and the Heritage Center. He is also currently part of an apprenticeship class for psychology and social work at Oakland Community College. Over the last 6 to 7 years, he has demonstrated remarkable loyalty and flexibility, serving diligently under three different churches and three different leaders, successfully bringing their shared vision and goals to life by building up strong youth and young adult departments. Minister Ray firmly believes that his assignment must extend far beyond the pulpit and the traditional church pews. This conviction drives his work within the Detroit Public School District, where he builds intentional relationships with students and works on the front lines to fundamentally redirect their life trajectories and overall vision for the future. On a personal note, he is an avid shoe enthusiast and true sneakerhead, with a particular affinity for collecting Jordan Retro 1s and the Smile Life Kill Winner sneakers. Amidst all his accomplishments, Minister Ray remains an humble servant who keeps his life completely anchored in the timeless truth of his foundational scripture, Isaiah 40:8: "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."
