What is the ISOC

AGSB ISOC is a student led society which aims to cater the daily needs of our Muslim body at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. We ensure that Muslims have a safe prayer space, have access to Jummah and are also exposed to lectures by knowledgeable external speaker. Our students can attend daily activities such as Quran circles, discussion circles, and can also partake in online activities via our WhatsApp group chats. The ISOC is led by a committee of seven students, who are all experienced in a variety of skills. You can see our progress and follow along on our Instagram and YouTube accounts. What community work have you done?

Hear at AGSB ISOC, community work is at the heart of our work. Allah SWT states in Surah al Maidah, Verse 32, "Whosoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity."

We hold an annual Charity Dinner with the organisation Charity Week to raise money for orphans and needy over the world. Moreover, we have our very own Unity Through Charity Campaign, where we raise money for a country in dire need of aid. The landmark event of this campaign is the AGSB Asian Foodsale. Since 2015, we have raised over £200,000 in humanitarian aid all over the globe.

We have worked with many charitable organisations during the course of out charitable career, including Altrincham Hale Muslim Associations, Human Appeal, Human Relief Foundation, Build Africa, Hand in Hand for Syria, Salam Charity, slamic Relief and Action for Humanity

How can I get involved?

Unity and strength is vital for our community. As a student, you can simple show your support by attending ISOC daily, and volunteering during the foodsale. As a parent, you can also get involved by spreading our cause, donating to the ISOC and also participating in our events such as the Charity Dinner.
