Webinar - The Cases Targeting America's Scientists, Scholars & Researchers in 2026
Webinar - The Cases Targeting America's Scientists, Scholars & Researchers in 2026
Join the Asian American Scholar Forum (aasforum.org) on a webinar that will provide the state of play and legal landscape for scientists, scholars, and researchers in 2026. Scientists, scholars, and researchers are facing increased scrutiny, from federal investigations and criminal charges to visa threats, wrongful termination, and administrative leave. These cases span universities, research institutions, and industries beyond STEM, and the consequences extend not just to individuals, but to the broader research community. Join us for a panel discussion featuring leading attorneys on the front lines of these cases. Our speakers will examine the evolving landscape of government investigations targeting researchers, the intersection of criminal defense, immigration, international travel, and employment law, and the particular pressures faced by scholars, researchers, and scientists of Chinese descent. We will explore what has changed and what echoes of the China Initiative remain.
