Strickland

When our oldest daughter was born, we quickly found out she had some chromosome abnormalities. With that came a lot of long days and hard nights. During one of her lengthy stays at Children's of Alabama we noticed that there was a child in the room next to her who didn't have any family members. When we asked the staff where the child's family was, they simply said that some children are in the state's care and end up living at the hospital because there aren't enough foster homes willing or able to take on children with special needs. Once we heard that we knew we had to do something. We became foster parents for the state of Alabama, focusing on taking care of medically fragile children. It has been a privilege to serve each child that has been in our home, it has deepened our faith, and grown us to depend on the Lord more and more.
