The 2026 Rooting & Rising Community Expo is the first annual community event hosted by Miss Julie's, designed to inspire hope and create new opportunities for individuals who may have once believed there was no path forward. Through local vendors, interactive workshops, employers, community resources, and shared stories, the Expo encourages attendees to discover new possibilities, build meaningful connections, and take their next step toward a beautiful future.

Free street parking is available on the weekends, and the Mortimer parking garage is also open for free parking.

Who can attend?

Everyone is welcome! The Rooting & Rising Community Expo is free and open to the public.

Question 4

Is there an application fee?

Accepted Answer

Marketplace Vendors and Workshop Educators are asked to submit a $15 non-refundable donation with their application. This donation supports the planning and coordination of the Expo.
For Marketplace Vendors, the $15 donation will be applied toward the remaining booth fee if accepted. Workshop Educators have no additional participation fee if selected.

Does submitting an application guarantee acceptance?

No. Applications are thoughtfully reviewed based on available space, overall event needs, and alignment with the mission and vision of the Rooting & Rising Community Expo.

Question 6

Are Workshop Educators paid?

Accepted Answer

Workshop Educators generously volunteer their time and talents to support the community. While we are unable to provide financial compensation, we are committed to highlighting participating educators through our event marketing and social media whenever possible.

Workshop Educators are responsible for bringing all materials, equipment, and supplies needed for their workshop. Miss Julie's will provide the workshop space.

Question 7

Why do I see Christ For Kids Ministries on some documents?

The Rooting & Rising Community EXPO is hosted by Miss Julie’s School of Beauty LLC, a subsidiary of Christ For Kids Ministries, through the Rooting & Rising Community Mobilization Program. Christ For Kids Ministries serves as our parent organization and may appear on official financial documents.

Question 8

How do I become a sponsor?

Please view the Sponsorship presentation linked above. After viewing the presentation you will be directed to the sponsor application form where you can apply.

All applications will go through a review process with our planning committee before official sponsors are announced.
