REFLEJOS Interactive Audiovisual Installation CONCEPT & ARTISTIC PROPOSAL Reflejos proposes integrating the inherent duality of the human condition: simultaneously inhabiting the paradigms of being observers and observed, without perceiving the alternation. As before a mirror, two facets of ourselves are presented: the one who looks at the reflection and the reflection itself. «Opposites are not antagonistic, but equal in their nature; it is their magnitudes that effectively oppose each other. Looking and being looked at: two extremes of the same action.» The core of the installation is an interactive optical device equipped with a mirror system. It allows the viewer to watch a video while, simultaneously, live footage of their own gaze is projected. In this way, the work addresses the duality of the gaze, the dissolution of the boundary between subject and object, and the profound oneness of the act of contemplating.
