A: To be eligible for warranty consideration, all defects must be identified and reported in the appropriate timeframes. If an issue is identified and not reported in the warranty period, this will be considered negligence and responsibility of rectification will fall on the owner.

Q: If the same or similar defect re occurs after the warranty period, is Homecorp liable to return?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp is no longer liable to return for an item that has re occurred if the warranty period has ceased.

Q: If an item is reported within the warranty period but Homecorp has not attended for rectification and it is now outside the warranty period, is Homecorp still liable to complete works?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp remains responsible for carrying out the necessary rectification works.

Question 4

Q: The tenant and property manager have completed an entry report and have found multiple items. Will Homecorp attend to all the items listed in the entry report?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp reserves the right not to attend to or rectify items identified solely in entry condition reports. Clients are given the opportunity to inspect the property and identify any concerns or defects at the time of handover.

Q: I am selling my home, and the buyer has completed a Building & Pest Inspection. The report outlines defects that l have agreed to rectify before settlement. Will Homecorp complete these items?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp may assess them to determine if they fall under warranty or contractual obligations. This assessment is based on relevant standards, timeframes, and the QBCC Standards and Tolerances Guide.

Q: An item was reported to the property manager within the 12-month defect period but was not forwarded to Homecorp. Will Homecorp still attend under warranty?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp will not attend to any item that was not officially reported within the 12-month warranty timeframe.

Question 7

Q: How do I lodge a claim for appliances or fittings outside the 12-month warranty period?

Accepted Answer

A: Claims need to be lodged with manufacturer directly who will be able to send out their own technician. A copy of the occupancy permit is required, as well as photos/videos of the issue, the model and serial number.

Question 8

Q: We arranged a trade to who’s finding state an installation error. Is Homecorp liable to pay the invoice and rectify the issue?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp will assess the defect under warranty and repair if applicable. Charges will be assessed by management.

Question 9

Q: Our home is outside the 12 month warranty, and a trade inspection found an installation error. Who is responsible for the repairs and the invoice?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp is not responsible for issues that occur outside of warranty. If the findings reflect poor installation, we will provide the original trades contact information the matter to be addressed directly.

Question 10

Q: Our smoke alarms have been found not compliant, Will Homecorp attend to rectify?

Accepted Answer

A: Homecorp will request the installing electrician within the 12-month warranty period. Any issue outside the warranty period, contact information will be provided for the matter to be addressed directly.
