Question 3

Students would like to take leave. What is the process?

Any leave that student wants to take is depends on COMPANY APPROVAL. On UTM side, we just want to be inform that the student will take leave on which particular date.

I already add company but no PROMPT appear

1. Make sure there is PROMPT after submit
2. Make sure attach PDF file
3. Verify with Coordinator status of the company

I already add company yesterday but why it does not appear in ITS?

All add company requires 1-3 WORKING DAYS before appear in ITS. Kindly check with internship coordinator to view the status of internship

Me and my friend want to go internship at same place

You both can go to same place as long as the company agrees and internship coordinator agrees

I already applied to a company and the company agree. What should i do next?

Get offer letter from the company (If company does give) and give form LI 1 from ITS page to company.
Form LI 1 must be cop and signed by the company to indicates that they are willing to accept the student internship
Upload back the form that has been signed and cop to ITS
If the company does not give or late give form LI 1  back, student are required to upload offer letter to ITS for the time being

When will i get my UTM SV?

You will get UTM SV on the first week of internship

Can i change my UTM SV?

Accepted Answer

NO. All UTM SV is assigned based on your internship location

When will my UTM SV visit me at the company?

Accepted Answer

At the moment, UTM SV will do online meeting / online visitation (May change in the future). They will inform you when is the meeting since all parties (student , company SV, UTM SV) need to be present.

When i need to do duty verification?

You MUST do duty verification (Pengesahan lapor diri) on the FIRST and SECOND day of internship

What happen if i or SV company do not complete duty verification?

Accepted Answer

You will not be able to create logbook and your SV company unable to check and verify your logbook.
Due to no logbook has been recorded, there will be NO MARKS given and thus will make u FAIL internshi[

I already put my SV company email on duty verification but he/she does not receive anything

1. Kindly refer to internship coordinator to resend verification
2. If problem persists, SV company need to use other email address for example gmail. Sometime SV company use company specific domain (@unifi.com , @companyname.com) and these domain may block other email addresses

My SV forgot his username and password to verify my logbook

My SV company resign / changed / Not checking my logbook

1. You need to change the SV company and redo duty verification.
2. Kindly inform internship coordinator to remove the current SV company

When should i make / entry to logbook?

You must do the logbook DAILY based on what you are doing on that particular day

I see different status on my logbook. Why?

There are several status when you submitted logbook.
Draft - Student does not send the logbook yet
Verify - Logbook has been verified by company SV
Approved - Logbook has been verified by UTM SV
Submitted - Logbook has been checked by UTM SV
Correction (Company) - Logbook has been checked by company SV and requires CORRECTION
Correction (University) - Logbook has been checked by UTM SV and requires CORRECTION

My logbook status has stuck several days / My SV does not check my logbook

Kindly inform both SV to check the logbook since your marks is reflected from it

My jobscope is not suitable / I am doing something that is not related to IT

1. If you on early weeks of internship, kindly wait a few weeks and see if they are any changes to your jobscope
2. Inform your UTM SV about this issue as they will discuss with company SV

I want to change company because of stress / far from home / allowance too low

All application to change company due to above reason is NOT ACCEPTED because student that find the company. They should check and asked the company before starting the intern

These jobscope is affecting my MENTAL HEALTH and i INSIST on changing the company

All MENTAL HEALTH issue need to be VERIFIED by HOSPITAL. If the jobscope really affecting you, please visit nearby medical specialist and get format letter that CLEARLY stated your medical condition.

If it just normal stress from work environment, please inform UTM SV and tell them the issue. Students need to cope with the situation as it is the work environment that student will faced in the future.

Company wants me to OUTSTATION for a few days (outside Malaysia or Inside Malaysia)

1. Kindly inform your UTM SV that you will be going OUTSTATION from what date
2. If inside Malaysia is still acceptable
3. If outside Malaysia, please consult UTM SV as your safety is our priority as well

I have a MUET examination coming up. Can i take holiday on that particular day?

Every holiday or mc is directly with the company. If the company agree, you may go. Please inform UTM SV if you take any leave

How many days can i take leave?

Accepted Answer

You can only take 10 Days of leave (including MC, company holiday, MUET examination, etc)

How i take leave / Who will approve my leave ?

Accepted Answer

All leave MUST go to company. If company agree, kindly inform UTM SV that you will taking a leave on that particular day

I have a major accident during my internship

Kindly inform your UTM SV and you may get indemnity letter from ITS
