What are the opening hours for HexaCon

Sunday 9:00 - 20:00

Most of the organised activities will end around 17:00 each day.

How do the "Hosted Games" work

These will be organised through Aftergame, with our volunteers teaching and playing some great games with you. We'll be sharing more information on our social pages and via our mailing list, as well as seeking recommendations for games to add to our schedule.

What's available for people new to board gaming

We'll have volunteers available throughout the weekend to teach some introductory games, in addition to our other events which will be open to everyone. Our growing games library will also be available for people looking to try new games.

Is there space for social and role playing games

Yes! You're of course welcome to use the open gaming spaces for whatever games you like, but during the day you'll also be able to use the hotel lounge, and during the evening our event spaces will be made available for people to use. We'll publish a floor plan in the run up to the event.

How does the Bring and Buy work

Accepted Answer

Labels will be available for people to provide their name, price and contact information. Sellers are responsible for meeting buyers to manage transactions. Any games left in the Bring & Buy area are left at the owner’s risk, although the convention space will be locked overnight.

Is the event Family Friendly

We don't have any age restrictions on our tickets, so anyone who enjoys games is welcome. Our games library has a range of titles, with the average age recommendations of around 8-10+. However, please note there are no children specific events or child care facilities.

Question 7

How do we take advantage of the preferential room rate

You need to book directly with the hotel via phone on 01256 856900 or via email reservations@hibasingstoke.com and quote the event "HexaCon". The rate should be £75.00 including breakfast.

Question 8

Will there be vendors at the event

Accepted Answer

Yes! While HexaCon is primarily focused on playing games and won't have a trade hall, Firestorm Cards will be attending as our main vendor, and will have a wide range of games for sale.

Question 9

Has Accessibility been considered when selecting the venue

Accepted Answer

The convention space and main hotel facilities are all on one floor, so shouldn't present an issue for anyone with mobility issues. If you have any other accessibility concerns, please reach out via e-mail.

Question 10

What's available for solo board gamers / small groups

Accepted Answer

We'll be using Aftergame to allow people to organise games amongst themselves, with QR codes dotted around the venue for people to access during the event. We'll also have "Looking for Player" flags available to provide a clear visual in the open gaming room.
