What does this mean?
The fibres have been prepared in a way that they face many directions instead of all aligned. They are also spun in a way that maximizes the air trapped between the fibres. This is known as woolen-style.

Why does this matter?
Woolen-style yarns, with their less uniform texture, are warmer in comparison to worsted-style yarns (aligned fibres). Most commercial yarns are spun worsted. This is because worsted process lends itself better to mechanized spinning and large-scale manufacturing.

Woolen-style yarns create softer, loftier, and more breathable fabrics, offering excellent warmth and a rustic, artisanal charm. Care Instructions for Handspun Wool Garments

Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle wool wash or pH-neutral detergent. Avoid agitation to prevent felting. Soak for 10–15 minutes, then gently drain and rinse with fresh water until clear.

Press out excess water by laying the garment flat on a clean towel, rolling it up, and pressing gently. Reshape and lay flat to dry on a drying rack or towel, away from sunlight or heat sources.

Store clean and completely dry in breathable bags or boxes with lavender or cedar to repel pests. Avoid machine washing, drying, or hanging, as these can shrink, distort, or stretch the garment.

Proper care will keep your handmade piece beautiful and durable for years!
