Question 1

How Do I Sign Up?

Accepted Answer

Email pam.solek@gmail.com to get started!

Question 2

Is There A Schedule?

Accepted Answer

We are focused on providing as much time with the dogs as we can! This means you can participate to any level you're comfortable with/available to :) There are no set hours or a minimum amount of time needed to join.

Question 3

Where Do I Go?

Accepted Answer

You will first pick up your dog at Coachella Valley Animal Campus (off the Bob Hope Hwy111 Exit). After that, you can take the dog to any outside area that allows animals (for example: Civic Center Park, The Shops at Palm Desert, etc)

Question 4

Do I Bring Anything?

Accepted Answer

The shelter will provide you with a backpack that includes all the items you should need while out with your dog (water, leash, toys, treats, poop bags, etc). You just need to bring yourself!

Question 5

What Happens After Outing?

Accepted Answer

After you bring your dog back to the shelter, they will ask you to fill out a questionnaire form. This is just to help them assess the dog's behavior in certain situations and will be added to their profile for any future adopters/fosters.

Question 6

Can I Share On Social Media?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We love seeing pictures and hearing details about FIDO outings! You can share on our Facebook Page, as well as any other social media you have. If possible, please include any info that would be helpful for a future adopter/foster (how they do in the car, friendliness with people/dogs, etc) and include dog's ID number so they can be easily found online.

Question 7

How Else Can I Help?

Accepted Answer

If you find your mobility or availability limited, you can still help! Sharing FIDO posts on social media for visibility, donating to the shelter, adopting or fostering, volunteering at CVAC or even taking a dog out to the backyard space to run around while you watch helps!
